How to claim a token you received by SMS

Organisations use Energywallet to send cash tokens to recipients by SMS. If you've received one, you can claim it in two ways.

Check your SMS

Your message includes the amount, the organisation that sent it, your code, and the expiry date. Keep the code private. It's tied to your phone number.

Option 1: Claim it in the app

1. Open the Energywallet app and sign in with the phone number the SMS was sent to. New to Energywallet? Download the app and sign up with that number.
2. Go to Top up and choose to claim a token.
3. Enter the code from your SMS. The value lands in your balance straight away.

Option 2: Collect cash from an agent

1. Visit an Energywallet agent and give them your code.
2. You'll receive a one-time code on your phone. Share it with the agent to confirm it's you.
3. The agent hands over your cash, and you get an SMS receipt with the amount and the agent's details.

Before it expires

You'll get a reminder before your token expires. Claim it before the expiry date in your SMS.
